About Ai Cerebric
We are a specialized studio dedicated to the idea that complex software should not feel complicated. Our work bridges the gap between deep technical capability and human intuition.
Our Origin
Ai Cerebric was founded in 2018 by Lydia Thorne after a decade of leading design systems at major European technology hubs. The studio was born out of a frustration with the 'move fast and break things' culture, which often resulted in fragmented user experiences and technical debt. We chose Utrecht as our base for its rich history of logic and design—a city that balances its medieval roots with a forward-thinking technological ecosystem.
Our name, Ai Cerebric, reflects our dual focus: the 'Ai' represents our commitment to the emerging era of intelligent systems, while 'Cerebric' emphasizes the human brain as the ultimate end-point of every interface. We do not just build for screens; we build for the mind. This philosophy has led us to work on everything from sub-millisecond trading platforms to patient-facing medical diagnostics.
How we work
Deep Synthesis
We begin every engagement with a two-week immersion phase. We don't look at UI; we look at data structures, API documentation, and user intent logs. We need to understand the 'physics' of your product before we can design its form.
Logic Mapping
Using our proprietary framework, we map the cognitive load of every core workflow. We identify where users are forced to remember too much or wait too long, creating a structural blueprint for the new architecture.
High-Fidelity Prototyping
We don't deliver static mockups. We deliver functional, code-based prototypes that interact with real data. This allows our clients to feel the product's rhythm and validate the logic before a single line of production code is written.
The Core Team
Lydia Thorne
Founder & Strategy Lead. Former Head of Product at Zeller. Specialist in information architecture and cognitive systems.
Marcus Jansen
Technical Director. Expert in React, Rust, and building low-latency bridge systems between frontend and backend.
Sana Khan
Cognitive Researcher. PhD in Human-Computer Interaction. Ensures our logical frameworks align with neuroscientific principles.
We believe in quality over quantity. As mentioned on our home page, we limit our client roster to ensure each project receives the full attention of our senior team. This approach allows us to solve the most difficult problems in tech today, from AI explainability to complex multi-tenant enterprise workflows.
